Return to Our Lady
Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke
is calling all Catholics to join in prayer over the next nine months as America faces historic challenges.
The novena will begin
March 12
and end with a consecration on the Feast of
Our Lady of Guadalupe
on
December 12.
In his video message,
Cardinal Burke notes that the world today is ravaged by hatred, confusion, disease, starvation, and war. It seems as though everywhere we turn, there is another story of an attack against the Church and the faithful. But it is now more than ever, he says, that we must remain hopeful.
Cardinal Burke reminds us that this is not the first time in history that the world has been in this state. In the early 16th century, the world saw much of what we are seeing today, and a bishop wrote
“unless the hand of God intervenes directly, all will be lost.”
Soon after, Our Lady appeared to Saint Juan Diego and changed the course of human history.
Cardinal Burke is inviting Catholics to return once again to Mary in her kindness through a nine-month novena. He says: “I’m calling on every Catholic in America to return to Our Lady and join in prayer”.
